Telco Operator

middleware platform maintenance

An Italian telecommunications operator selected a core3 Client (NASDAQ: ERIC) as partner in the area of managing field operations regarding the operator’s stationary and mobile access and transmission networks, as well as the network’s main stationary nodes. The project scope included the maintenance of a middleware platform that enabled the Italian operator to integrate with our Client’s MSDP environment. core3 consultants became analysts, programmers and team managers. Their tasks included 2nd and 3rd line support, 24/7/365 maintenance, analysing and solving issues and incidents, managing system failures, implementing and maintaining remote management and alarm monitoring tools as well as preparing documentation and presenting progress reports.

The largest outsourcing program in Poland performed for one of the major telecommunications operators. 3 separate areas were recognised: BSS, OSS, Mobile. For each of them, one supplier was selected as responsible for maintenance (3rd line), development, system analysis and (optional) solutions architecture. Each supplier was obliged to provide the Client with a comprehensive solution embracing internal project management and version management. All systems maintained by our Client as a supplier were divided into 4 areas: CRM, billing, sales, and integration. After the transformation our administrators are responsible both for sharing their expertise in the form of 2nd and 3rd line support as well as for ensuring 24/7/365 availability of the system. core3 administrators were not only crucial in the composition of newly created teams. They were also selected to become the leaders of one of the 4 teams. Thanks to their knowledge and experience they were able to create an efficient framework for knowledge acquisition. Moreover, the Client initiated a team-as-a-service approach to our experts.
